Praise for Drink Your Carbs
Fact: We have been falsely accused by a major on-line publication of promoting Drunkorexia. We recently received an angry email demanding, “Stop trying to take away my Fruity Pebbles, Haters!” But these are the outliers. The overwhelmingly majority of the comments and correspondence we receive are positively glowing. Allow us to share a few favorites:
I fell in love with wine (among other things) during the year I spent in studying painting in Paris. Since then wine is part of my life and my cuisine. I love that this book treats wine and food from a perspective of enjoyment. As such it’s informative and hilarious and realistic.

I LOVE it. Seriously. Finally a book a book club would actually have something to talk about:) I think I’ve been on this diet for 4 years and didn’t know I was. Thank you for going nightmare mode for 30 days and sharing the results so I don’t have to. I always wondered:)

I was a physics student before I committed to wine. I have tried for years (usually with little effect) to explain what you so aptly point out: if the calories in are less than the calories burned you absolutely have to lose weight. I’ve even asked people if they think the grade of fuel they put in their car, or how they drive, maintenance, or wash their car ever makes them think that they can stop putting fuel in it and it will just keep going ... But what I’ve never understood until reading your book is why EVERYONE knows they have to put gas in the car or it will eventually stop moving but they can’t seem to apply that same reasoning to consumption/exercise and weight.
Reading through your book it hit me that people want to believe there is some magic out there that will make it all work out; rather than just having to work out. Combine that disposition with the billion dollar weight loss industry which absolutely needs to convince people that the structure of their diet is everything, not the simple fact of calories consumed vs. burned and you have a super willing and gullible audience married to an insatiable army of snake venom salespeople.
Not until I read your book did the light come on that IF you get people to understand it’s just a matter of calories, then the whole conversation becomes one of nutrition and exercise, not ‘Diet’: not some elaborate regime and product that we can sell you. Of course sustainability is the last and truly key component.

Keep up the good work guys! Even though we stay a bit on the lower carb side (for over 6 years now, ie; no fruit, beans or grains) you guys pick up where the much maligned 'Drinking Man's Diet' left off, lending a much needed modern twist. . . .
The people who believe you cannot imbibe/party a bit and stay healthy, much less lose weight are severely clueless in our humble opinion. Really enjoyed the article about moderate drinkers living longer than abstainers. Cheers!
