We are in no way qualified to create this diet. We are not doctors. We are not nurses or dieticians. We hold no degrees in health, nutrition or exercise physiology. As undergraduates we both took more science courses than our schools required, but that was a long time ago. These days our combined knowledge of science and medicine probably falls somewhere between that of a TV Weatherman and fans of prime-time medical dramas.
That’s what makes Drink Your Carbs such a revolutionary diet. Our profound lack of qualifications is exactly what makes us uniquely qualified to create it. Our complete lack of training allowed us to step outside of the usual diet paradigms and begin trying something new.
After rejecting several diets in a row, we realized that our biggest problem with all of these diets is they uniformly demand that you stop drinking alcohol. Some allow tiny bits of alcohol to creep back in after a “cleanse period,” but nearly all recommend against alcohol in even modest quantities. The Diet Industry is the modern equivalent of the early 20th century’s Anti-Saloon League. They are prohibitionists. They are like the Feds in old Mob Movies swinging axes and breaking open whiskey casks in the street. If these diets were superheroes, their super power would be the ability to suck the fun out of any event, in any place, at any time.
If you have a drinking problem, by all means get help and find a diet that prohibits drinking. If you drink, and can’t imagine giving it up, then Drink Your Carbs is your diet.
One Final Word of Warning: This diet has not been tested on animals. We didn’t even test it on a single gerbil. If we had tested it on a gerbil, for all we know the gerbil would’ve died. We live this diet and we can tell you that for us it works. We have also included some success stories from others who have transformed their lives and waistlines through Drink Your Carbs. The one thing we all have in common is that we are all healthy enough to experiment safely with our food and drink intake. If you are not in optimal health, changing your eating and drinking habits could be dangerous. Before you start any diet you should talk to your doctor. This is doubly true for Drink Your Carbs, as we have already admitted that we have no qualifications to recommend our advice.
