The Drink Your Carbs Food List contains everything you need to put our plan to work in your life. Take it with you to the grocery store. Keep it in mind as you peruse the entrees in your favorite restaurant. With the Food List in hand, you will always have lots of great options to choose from. You’ll have to make some sacrifices if you want to drink your carbs. Some of your favorite foods will inevitably be in the “Avoid” category. When you consider the fact that Drink Your Carbs is the only diet that actively encourages dieters to relax with a drink at the end of the day, these hardly seem like sacrifices at all.

A few tips for using the Food List:
This list does not contain every food in the world. If it did, it would be roughly the same size and weight as the 20-Volume Unabridged Oxford English Dictionary. When you are eating and shopping you are certain to come across foods not on the list. Feel free to post any questions to our blog, DYC Live, and we will try to reply. Alternately, look for a similar food on the list to see where it falls. For example, we do not call out pattypan squash by name. We do, however, list zucchini under “Unlimited.” Since pattypan is essentially UFO-shaped zucchini, you can safely assume it is also unlimited. Similarly, we do not explicitly prohibit funnel cakes by name, but between the sugar, the white flour and the deep-fried you should be able to figure out that they belong in “Avoid.”
We have also included a list of food preparations to enjoy and to avoid. Just because zucchini is unlimited does not mean you are allowed to eat it breaded and deep-fried. How you prepare your food is as important as the foods you choose to eat.
If you are temporarily unable to stick to the food list because you are travelling, visiting relatives who eat shockingly few fresh vegetables or any other short-term reason, do you best to stick to the following rules. These rules are not as effective as sticking to Drink Your Carbs, they will limit any potential weight gain until you are once again able to take full control of your eating.
